Today I take a look at a new card game offering from IDW, Chew: Cases of the FDA.
In Chew: Cases of the FDA (Food and Drug Administration) you play an agent who’s job it is to investigate food-related crimes. From deep fried fingers (of the human kind) to Fillet of Cat (of the feline kind). Even your local school mascot could be missing and turn up as a delicacy at a local fast-food joint. Obviously this fast, furious, laugh-a-minute game isn’t to be taken seriously. It’s quick, fun entertainment that conforms to the type of game that is increasingly popular right now.
As part of the tie-in with the Eisner Award winning comic series of the same name, players work to solve a case by finding clues, recruiting allies with amazing food-related super powers or cunningly sabotaging your opponents. I love a game that also has the ability to mess with other players. You win by being the first to close your book before other players can swoop in and steal your spot as the super-sleuth-food-cop!
Personally I’m looking forward to this game and once I have a copy I’ll write a full review for budding food-cops everywhere!
Something extra of the not-illegal-food kind!
As a bonus for preorders, all games will come with a copy of CHEW#1 comic. This exciting bonus has an exclusive variant cover by CHEW’s own artist Rob Guillory and further immerses players in the world of CHEW. A must have addition to any serious comic reader’s collection.
